Roberto Linares and Telmary at Lula Lounge
I’m trying to blog more frequently so here’s a little one.
Here’s a video filmed on my iPhone from the horn section of the stage at Lula, from Roberto Linares Brown’s gig there on Saturday. It was a really fun night with some of the guys from Tiempo Libre coming out and sitting in after their gig at Koerner Hall as well as so many from the Toronto Latin music community. I wanted to post a video of Luisito Orbegoso sitting in singing Sonero’s but it was so loud on stage my phone totally rejected any audio input.
This is Telmary Diaz’ tune Que Equivoca’o. She sounds amazing. Hopefully you can catch the vibe and energy given the less than stellar quality of the video and audio. Kervin Barreto is playing some off microphone trumpet noodles next to me. Chendy Leon is sitting in on timbales and proceeds to unleash some furious waves of rhythm when the band finally releases into a montuno at the end.
